Agent is a full-page chat where the agent works on a resume with you. It can draft a resume from a few lines about you, rework your summary, rewrite weak bullets or tailor a resume to a job. Every chat works on its own copy of the resume, so your original stays as it was. Open it from Agent in the dashboard sidebar.
The agent runs on Hiresweep AI, with nothing to set up. Starting a chat is free. Each message you send uses one AI action. See Plans and usage.
To work on the resume open in the builder instead, without a copy, use the Agent card in the builder.

Other ways to start a chat

Start a chat

1

Choose a resume

In Resume, pick the resume to work on, or Create from scratch for a blank one. The most recent resume you edited is picked for you.
  • From a resume, the chat works on a copy with ” - AI Draft” added to its name, for example “Product Designer - AI Draft”, and the same tags. Your original stays untouched.
  • From scratch, the chat starts a new blank resume named “AI Draft”.
2

Say what you need (optional)

Type a request in What should the agent do? (optional), or pick one of the suggestions under Or start from, such as “Find weak bullets and rewrite them with outcomes, numbers and sharper verbs.” The suggestions change with the resume and job you picked. If you opened the page from a job, a Job chip shows which one. Remove the chip to leave the job out.

Select Start chat

Hiresweep creates the working copy and opens the chat.

The chat

On a wide screen the chat page has three columns:
  • Chats on the left: New and your Recents. Select Hide chats to fold the list away and Show chats to bring it back.
  • The conversation in the middle.
  • The working resume on the right, updated as the agent changes it.
On a phone, select Resume in the header to see the working resume.

Ask for changes

Type in Ask anything about this resume and press Enter. Concrete requests work best:
  • “Tailor this resume to the job description below, keeping the voice concise.”
  • “Find weak bullets and rewrite them with stronger outcomes.”
  • “Ask me before changing anything that looks uncertain.”
Select Stop generation to stop a reply part-way.

Attach files

Select Attach files to add a job description, notes or a screenshot. You can attach PDFs, text files, images and JSON files, up to 10 MB each and up to 10 files per message. A chat holds up to 100 MB of attachments.

Answer the agent’s questions

When the agent needs a decision, such as which role to aim for or whether to keep a section, it shows a question card with suggested answers. Select one to send it.

Ask for options on one bullet

With a mouse, hover over a bullet in the working resume and select Propose options. The agent suggests other ways to write that bullet.

Review the agent’s changes

In the full-page Agent, the agent applies its changes to the working copy straight away. Each change shows in the chat as a card: On a change card:
  • Details shows the exact edits the agent made.
  • Open in builder opens the working copy in the builder.
  • Restore puts the resume back to how it was before this change. Restoring also rolls back every change the agent made after it. This can’t be undone.
AI-written changes can be inaccurate. Read the working copy before you export it, share it or send it to an employer.

The working resume

The resume column is read-only. Its toolbar has:
  • Decrease zoom, Increase zoom and Fit to width;
  • Download PDF to download the working copy;
  • Open in builder to edit the working copy yourself.
The working copy is an ordinary resume. You find it in Resumes, with the rest of your resumes.

Manage chats

The chat list shows your most recent chats first. Open a chat’s Chat actions menu, in the list or in the chat’s header:
  • Copy copies the conversation as text.
  • Archive keeps the chat but stops new messages. An archived chat shows Archived in the list. Select New chat to keep going in a new one.
  • Delete removes the chat’s messages and the files you attached. The working resume stays in Resumes unless you also tick Also delete that resume. This can’t be undone.
A chat also becomes read-only if its working resume is deleted.
