A passkey lets you sign in with your device’s fingerprint, face or screen lock, or with a password manager that stores passkeys. You don’t need a password on your account to use one, and you can add several, for example one for your laptop and one for your phone.

Add a passkey

1

Open Sign-in & security

Select Settings in the dashboard sidebar, then Sign-in & security under Account.
2

Select Add passkey

In the Passkeys row, select Add passkey.
3

Confirm on your device

Your browser or password manager asks you to create a passkey. Confirm with your fingerprint, face, screen lock or PIN.
4

Name it

Hiresweep asks you to Enter a name for your passkey. Use something you will recognize, such as “MacBook Touch ID” or “Work phone”, and select Save.
The passkey now appears in the list. Choose the name carefully: you can’t rename a passkey after you save it. To change a name, delete the passkey and add it again.

Sign in with a passkey

On the sign-in page, select Passkey under or continue with and confirm on your device. Many browsers also offer your passkey when you select the Email or username field. Signing in with a passkey doesn’t ask for a two-factor code.

Delete a passkey

Select Delete next to the passkey, then Delete passkey in Delete this passkey?. You can no longer sign in with it, and this can’t be undone. Deleting a passkey in Hiresweep doesn’t remove it from your device or password manager. Remove it there as well to keep the list tidy.

Troubleshooting

You may have cancelled the device prompt, or your browser doesn’t support passkeys. Select Add passkey again, or try an up-to-date version of Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
The passkey works. It shows as Unnamed passkey. If you want a name, delete it and add it again.
A passkey lives on the device or password manager that created it. Add a passkey on each device, or use a password manager that syncs passkeys between them.
