Resumes in the dashboard sidebar lists every resume in your account. Keep one per role, market or language, and use tags to tell them apart. The subtitle shows how many you have.
If you work for clients, the page title reads Resumes for the client’s name, and it lists that client’s resumes. See Working with clients.

What’s on the page

  • New in the header starts a resume. See Creating your first resume.
  • Pick up where you left off appears once you have more than three resumes. It shows the resume you edited last, with Continue editing, Tailor for a new job and its latest Resume check score.
  • All resumes is your library, with the tools described below.
  • Public resumes appears beside the library when at least one resume is public. It shows each public resume’s views and downloads. See Sharing your resume publicly.

List and grid views

The library opens as a list. Use the List view and Grid view buttons at the end of the toolbar to switch. The status shows Public, Locked or Agent draft (a working copy the agent made). A resume with a Tailored for value shows it as its target, for example “For Staff Engineer”.

Find a resume

If nothing matches, select Clear filters. You can also press ⌘ K or Ctrl K from anywhere in the app and type a resume’s name, or choose Find a resume…. See Using the command palette.
Tags are the way to group resumes; there are no folders. Use tags for the target role (frontend, product), the market (uk, remote) or a client.

Resume actions

Select a row or card to open the resume in the builder. For everything else, open its … menu or right-click it. The same actions, except Open, are in the builder’s Resume actions (…) menu above the canvas.

Rename and details

1

Open the dialog

Choose Rename and details… to open Update Resume.
2

Edit the fields

Change the Name, Tailored for (optional, up to 120 characters, shown on the resume’s card and row), Slug or Tags.
3

Save

Select Save Changes.
The slug is part of the public link. Editing the name rewrites the slug to match, so a public resume’s link changes unless you set the slug back before you save.

Duplicate

Duplicate Resume starts with the name plus “(Copy)”, a slug made from that name, and the same tags. Tailored for isn’t copied. From the dashboard you stay on the page; from the builder the copy opens. A copy’s resume language is reset to the language you use Hiresweep in. If the original was in another language, change it back under Design > Page > Language. Good reasons to duplicate:
  • tailoring a resume for one job without changing your main version;
  • keeping a short and a long version;
  • trying a new template or layout;
  • making a version in another language.

Lock editing

Lock editing takes effect at once, with an Undo button in the confirmation. A locked resume can’t be edited, deleted, renamed or shared differently until you unlock it, but you can still open, export and duplicate it. The builder shows Locked, read only next to the resume name. To change it again, choose Unlock on the dashboard or Unlock editing in the builder.

Delete

Delete asks you to confirm with Delete resume. The resume, its public link and its stored files are removed.
Deleting can’t be undone. If you might need the resume later, download a JSON backup first. See Exporting your resume.
Hiresweep doesn’t keep a version history of resumes. Duplicate a resume or download a JSON backup before large changes.
